Palliative Care as a Compliment to Your Practice
Posted almost 14 years ago by Theresa Pinder
Ever been stumped by how to manage chronic pain in your patients? Ever wonder how to gently encourage family members to seek support of palliative care providers without diminishing their hope? Curious as to what the inside of a "hospice house" looks like?
Join us on Thursday, October 20th for dinner and a CEU (AANP accredited) as we explore solutions to these dilemmas and learn how partnering with a palliative care nurse practitioner may be just the solution you need to meet all the dimensions of patient care you know they deserve but just can't seem to fit into a 15 minute visit.
Arrive at your convenience between 6pm and 7pm to enjoy networking, a tour of the Hay-Madeira & Harper Hospice Houses. Beginning at 6:45 we will serve buffet dinner and conduct a brief business meeting of our newly formed chapter of AANP. At 7:30pm we will begin our educational program by Gusti-Labatte-Deneau, MSN, ARNP, ANP-BC, Director of the Palliative Care Services program for the Treasure Coast Hospice. The topic: Palliative Care as a Compliment to Your Practice will address methods by which palliative care service providers can assist you in meeting the full range of needs your patients with chronic disease present with. The cost of this event is $20 as there will be no commercial sponsorship.
