The Planning Committee met on November 16th to continue the efforts of formalizing our local chapter into a not-for-profit corporation. We are delighted to announce that we have adopted out Chapter Bylaws! Please take a look at the copy attached for a full review of the Bylaws, but we did want to share the defined purpose of our group with your here:
"The Council shall be concerned with the health and wellness of the people of the State of Florida. The Council will promote the visibility and unity of nurses engaged in advanced nursing practice as Nurse Practitioners. This is accomplished by the provision of quality evidence-based educational programs, networking opportunities for its members, promoting the role of the Nurse Practitioner, and legislative policy advocacy. An integral part of the purpose of the Council will be achieved through community outreach programs."
You will see, we have adopted our NEW NAME:
The Nurse Practitioner Council of the Treasure Coast (NPCTC)
We are working with the team at ENPN to update our page with the new name and a new look! Keep posted on these and ALL the changes going on in our group!

We have also elected an Interim Board of Directors. The Interim Board will serve no longer than 6 months and their purpose is primarily to steward the formation of the corporate entity, and ensure that the first fully authorized Board of Directors is nominated and duly elected. The Interim Board is as follows:
Terri Pinder, President
Jennifer Gerring, Vice-President
Karin Klause, Treasurer
Betty Tsarnes, Secretary
Maria Cruz, Director at Large
Michelle Taylor, Director at Large
Our group has engaged an accountant who will be assisting with the filing of our corporation with the State using funds donated by various interested parties as seed money to accomplish this effort.
Our next steps will be to establish a budget which will include anticipated expenses. These costs of remaining a legitimate corporation, as well as the expenses that can be reasonably anticipated in the pursuit of our organization's purpose, will inform our decision regarding the cost per member for annual dues. It is our intent to keep these membership dues affordable to encourage participation. We will begin collecting dues after our corporation is created and a bank account opened. Please plan to support our chapter with your membership dues in 2022.
Our next meeting is planned for Monday, December 13th at 6:30 PM via zoom. (The invite and agenda will be posted in a future announcement). We plan to discuss and approve a budget and dues levels at that meeting, as well as any other business that may require addressing.
We hope to see you there!
