Mayor Greg Oravec signed a proclamation designating November 10-16, 2019 as "Nurse Practitioner Week" in the City of Port St. Lucie.  The proclamation was accepted by Dr. Karin Klause, Family Nurse Practitioner, on behalf of Treasure Coast Nurse Practitioners during the city council meeting on November 12, 2019 at 6:30PM.

There are over 35,000 licensed advanced practice nurses in the State of Florida who provide evidence-based quality healthcare for our communities.  In addition to providing health care across the lifespan for persons with acute and chronic health conditions, nurse practitioners order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medication and educate patients about their health and medications. Nurse practitioners play an important role in promoting and improving the overall health of our community.
