National Day of CPR and AED Training on Saturday May 18 - free CPR/AED education for the public in Stuart
Posted over 6 years ago by Michelle Taylor
National Day of CPR and AED Training is the 3rd Saturday of May each year, established by the Compress and Shock Foundation.
The mission of C&S is to the teach life-saving skills of compression-only CPR and AED use to all members of the public FREE OF CHARGE.
This year the event will be THIS SATURDAY on May 18th at the Stuart YMCA.
Sessions are 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00pm.
The training sessions include a brief presentation by Dr Rob Loflin followed by hands on CPR and AED training. The training teaches people how to recognize cardiac arrest, to perform the 3 C's (check, call, compress), use an AED, and focuses on reducing as many barriers as possible for people to perform bystander CPR.
We need to get the word out about this event and sign up as many folks as possible. Please, share this email and flyer with 5 people and if any of your family and friends do not know how to perform CPR, please help them sign up on the website. Share as widely as possible - Facebook, Twitter, whatever you can think of. Link to sign up:
A few important points:
This is NOT a BLS or ACLS class. This is not for healthcare workers. This does not provide "certification" in CPR.
This is for the public.
Part of the mission of our foundation is to eliminate the myth that a person has to have special certification or training to perform basic CPR and use an AED.
EVERY MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC CAN AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO PERFORM CPR AND USE AN AED!
