You will have to complete an application for a new DEA registration if you had an DEA n umber that has expired. The original DEA registration will not be reinstated according to the DEA website.

Florida statute 893.03 Standards and schedules of Controlled Substances in Florida

From Board of Nursing:  Register As A Controlled Substance Prescriber 10/13/16
Anyone who prescribes any controlled substance listed as Schedule II, Schedule III, or Schedule IV narcotics as defined in s. 893.03, for the treatment of chronic nonmalignant pain, must designate himself or herself as a controlled substance prescribing practitioner on the practitioner profile.
