Health Policy & Legislative

The purpose of this committee is to educate the public and legislative representatives on the role of NPs. The committee is also involved in planning health policy and legislative related events for NP Week. In addition, this committee advocates for removing barriers to accessing healthcare provided by NPs, which includes full practice authority/autonomous practice. The committee may collaborate and coordinate legislative activities with the FNPN Region 2 Director, AANP State Director, and AANP Region 11 Director. The committee prepares legislative updates for communication to the membership, including social media and membership platform. The committee may perform other duties assigned by the Board of Directors.

The Committee Chair will coordinate recording minutes of committee meetings and submit a quarterly report to the Board of Directors.
