NPCTC Leadership Updates

Posted 13 days ago

Dear Members of the Nurse Practitioner Council of the Treasure Coast,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved President, Karin Klause, who left us in January following a brief illness with cancer. Karin was a passionate leader, a dedicated nurse practitioner, and a treasured friend to many. Her contributions to this council and to the nurse practitioner community will never be forgotten, and we honor her memory with profound gratitude.

In light of this loss, the Board has appointed Teena White to serve as President. Teena has been an active and committed member of our council and brings a wealth of experience and vision to this role.

Additionally, Michelle Duane will be stepping into the position of Vice President, which leaves her previous Board of Directors seat open.

We will be holding elections in June to fill several open positions and are currently accepting nominations until 5/10/25.

We also needed to make some updates to the bylaws which have been approved by the Board of Directors and will be sent to our active members for an electronic vote.

If the proposed bylaws changes are approved, we will need to elect a new Secretary, Health Policy/Legislative Director and Treasurer.

Maria Cruz, our current treasurer, would still have another year of her term under the current bylaws (new proposal is to change treasurer from even to odd years). Therefore the board has nominated her for the office of Treasurer for the 2025 election.

If you or someone you know is interested in running for one of these roles, please complete the nomination form by 5/10/25.  We encourage all members to consider getting involved and helping to shape the future of our council.
